The Bengaluru police arrested Bollywood actor Shakthi Kapoor’s son Siddhanth Kapoor and four others for allegedly consuming drugs at a party on Sunday night.
According to the police, they raided a five-star hotel in the Karnataka capital and took into custody 35 guests on the basis of a tip-off.
After a medical test, Siddhanth, Akhil Soni, business manager at a software company;
Harjot Singh, logistics head at a startup; Hani Rafeeque, a digital marketing professional; and Akhil, a freelance photographer, were arrested.
A police official said that Siddhanth was the disc jockey at the event and that most of the partygoers were from north India.
Deputy commissioner of police (east) Bheemashankar S Guled said that the medical test showed that Siddhanth had consumed drugs.
